What is a SWIFT transfer?

A SWIFT transfer is an international money transfer made through the interbank messaging system known as SWIFT. For companies engaged in foreign economic activity, it is the primary channel for paying contracts in foreign currencies such as USD or EUR. However, due to current restrictions, direct interaction with banks has become difficult for many legal entities. This is where our service comes in. We act as an official payment agent: you transfer rubles to our account, and we, in full accordance with your contract and payment order, execute the SWIFT transfer to your non-resident partner. It’s a transparent and secure operation fully compliant with legal requirements.

What closing documents do you provide?

We provide a full set of documents required for accounting and tax reporting. After the payment is executed, you receive:
• A service completion certificate with a detailed description of the transaction.
• An invoice for proper VAT accounting.
• A statement confirming the transfer of funds to the recipient.
• All necessary accompanying documents for deal identification.

What are the transaction timeframes?

The processing time for international transfers and payments depends on the chosen bank, currency, and type of operation. For SWIFT transfers, the standard execution time is between 1 and 5 business days. When entering into a contract with a foreign counterparty, it’s important to consider differences in banking days between countries and possible delays in the SWIFT system.

How is the tax agent determined and who is responsible for paying VAT?

A tax agent for VAT purposes is the entity that makes the payment or acts as a sub-agent in settlements under a contract with a foreign service provider. Under Russian tax law, if the foreign counterparty is not registered with the Russian tax authorities, the responsibility for withholding and paying VAT lies with the Russian buyer — either a legal entity or an individual making the international payment.
